RefynED is designed for schools that believe evaluation should support growth. We protect educator information with the same care that schools protect student learning. Privacy, trust, and transparency guide every decision we make.
Information We Collect
RefynED only collects the information necessary to provide our service. This includes:
- Name and email for login and communication
- Educator observation and evaluation notes
- Lesson artifacts and reflections educators choose to upload
RefynED does not collect or store student data or student personally identifiable information.
All evidence relates only to educator practice and professional growth.
How We Use Information
We use educator information to:
- Provide the RefynED service
- Support schools in implementation and coaching
- Improve our product and experience
We do not use data for advertising or promotional purposes. We do not sell data. We do not use data to build commercial profiles.
Data Ownership
Districts and educators own their information at all times. RefynED only processes data to deliver our service.
Security and Compliance
We use enterprise cloud infrastructure with modern encryption and access controls. This includes:
- Encryption in transit and at rest
- Multi factor authentication for all internal accounts
- Role based access and least privilege controls
- Network and system monitoring
- Regular internal security reviews
All RefynED employees and subcontractors complete annual privacy and security training. They must sign a confidentiality and data security agreement before gaining system access. These agreements require the same level of protection and confidentiality that we commit to districts.
Data Retention and Deletion
Upon request or at the end of a contract, all district data is exported securely and then permanently deleted after confirmation. We provide written certification of deletion.
Incident Notification
If we confirm unauthorized access to district information, we notify the district immediately and take immediate steps to limit and correct the issue.
